Its been a good week to reflect on my past experience with hosting and site builders. As its been told, I have been a web designer for the past 15+ years, so I have a little bit of experience in this field.

About 10 years ago I started working for a company as a senior designer working with WordPress with building, developing, and hosting them. So I had my hands in many of the hosting sites that are being discussed. I had probably 120 sites hosting on about 10 different hosting companies. Some I hated working on, some were a very good experience. So when I started doing more freelance work, I had a great amount of experience and knew what I liked and what would make my life easier.

So I chose Dreamhost as my hosting company. At the time I chose it mostly because they were one of the few companies at that moment that allowed you to host as many sites on your account as you want for the same price. What a great opportunity for a freelance designer. And I also had other thoughts of how I could make money off of that model, but thats for another post.

In short, Dreamhost was easy to work with, easy to startup and build WordPress sites, and easy to get in contact with support when needed. And sometimes I really needed it.

Speaking of WordPress, i love it! Its been my baby and moneymaker for the past 10 years and I don’t ever see me going back to another site builder. I consider myself a WordPress expert and I can get things accomplished very easy and very quick. Which would then help to be able to start the business moving and getting more clicks.
